Birth Course
A comprehensive birth course that addresses all areas of labor and birth. The course meets once a week for 90 minutes over a four week period. The course is offered as a group meeting via zoom. We will discuss anatomy, physiology, signs of labor, comfort measures, birth settings and providers, how to advocate for yourself, normal labor and birth, deviations from normal, and variations of normal, and initial postpartum period for the birthing woman. We will also talk about what happens in the initial time postpartum during the newborn exam and the different medications that are typically offered to newborns.
This course is meant to be a supportive and interactive environment for people to discuss their current knowledge, and gain new insight into birth. Questions are welcomed as well as discussion!
